Started Nursing July 1983 (40yrs!)
My career has taken me from Care Of the Elderly wards to General Practice, diverting to set up a COPD assessment unit at the interface of Primary and Secondary care, then to settle within the Community of Liverpool initially setting up a Community Respiratory care Team and then to being integral in working within the Community Matron team especially with care homes.
Following “Burn Out” in 2021 I retired in April 2022 but returned in May 2022 developing the Tier 3 Liverpool Long Covid service with Merseycare.
Living with Chronic Fatigue following an episode of Glandular Fever at the age of 18, I find I can relate fully with Long Covid.
