| Biography | My first 20 years as a Registered Nurse were in the operating theatres working across all specialities, culminating as a Laparoscopic Surgical Care Practitioner. The next 16 years were as an Inflammatory Bowel Disease Advanced Nurse Practitioner developing IBD nursing services in two Trusts before retiring last year. Earlier this year, I became part of an exciting pilot project as a Legacy Nurse. My role is aimed at retaining newly qualified Healthcare Professionals in the NHS. As I no longer work as an IBD ANP I had to leave the CCUK Nursing Programme but now work as their first Volunteer Nurse as a buddy to support nurses on the Programme and as part of the faculty delivering Advice Line training. |
