Ruth Neil

Ruth Neil is an RMN and the Clinical Lead Admiral Nurse in Wakefield, West Yorkshire. The heart of her work is in the community, caring for family carers of people living with dementia. As an Admiral Nurse she is supported by Dementia UK to provide the specialist help and advice families need and to share best practice in dementia care with other professionals.

Ruth works with families from the point of diagnosis to post-bereavement. She is passionate about ensuring people have access to the right support at the right time and works with local statutory and voluntary sector services to improve this. Ruth and her team run specialist support for those with young onset dementia, post diagnostic support sessions and carer education sessions; alongside one to one support for those with the most complex needs.

When not working Ruth can mostly be found being very harassed by a very very small dog. He occasionally makes an appearance on online training events too but has started charging and his fees are extortionately high.
