Judy Winter has been a qualified nurse for almost 30 years and for the past 21 years has spent most of her time looking after the patient with Type 2 Diabetes. Over the last 8 years she has worked in a dual role as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Diabetes Specialist Nurse within the primary care setting in Greater Preston and Chorley & South Ribble CCG. Judy completed the Warwick Course in Diabetes and 8 years ago undertook a Masters’ Programme in Insulin Initiation and Titration. Diabetes is where her passion lies delivering individualised, evidenced based care to ensure positive outcomes for patients. As an ANP she has also developed a wide range of skills that complement her role as a diabetes specialist. She is passionate about upskilling and educating fellow clinicians and is involved in teaching and presenting on both a promotional and non-promotional basis, locally and nationally.
