Biography

Debbie qualified as a nurse in 1997 from Middlesex University from one of the first cohorts of nursing graduates.  Working initially in general medicine she then spent 5 years in ITU obtaining the ENB100 specialist  ITU course during this time.  She became a Respiratory nurse in 2004 in Glangwili hospital which is where she stayed for the next 10 years. During this time she obtained her asthma diploma and Non medical prescribing qualification. She became a Respiratory Nurse specialist in 2014 leading the Respiratory Nursing service in Glangwili.  Debbie has always thought that a lot of what was done in secondary care from a Respiratory nursing perspective could be done in primary care.  Since December 2018 she has been working 4 days per week in primary care and 1 day a week in secondary care running the severe asthma service.  The initial cluster funding has now been developed and she is one of 3 asthma interface nurses in the healthboard.
