GP and ophthalmology specialist Dr Anup Shah explains how nurses should approach common eye complaints, including when to refer and how to manage those conditions that can be dealt with in primary care

Learning Objectives

This module will explain how to:

  • Take a good history and perform an eye examination
  • Recognise when the likely cause is serious and requires either immediate or routine referral
  • Be able to establish likely benign causes of red eye and common eyelid complaints that can be managed in primary care
  • Manage some key benign conditions appropriately
