Pearl Avery has had an interest in Gastroenterology since qualifying in 2005. Woking in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) for 10 years and has and interest in digital health to improve patient outcomes. This led to secondment to the IBD Registry and successful application to the HEE/NIHR bridging award and NHS Clinical Entrepreneur programme. Pearl was a patient safety practitioner for one year and 2021 has been an IBD Advanced Nurse Practitioner at St Marks Hospital now incorporating Nurse research Pearl works one day weekly at Wyke Regis and Lanehouse Medical Center as an ANP specialist interest in gastroenterology. Pearl is undertaking a PhD and is the Nurse representative for the British Society of Gastroenterology IBD section clinical research group.
